§ 3-60. Motor vehicle and traffic rules.

  • (a)

    Driver duly authorized to operate. No motorized vehicle shall be operated in any area of the air terminal unless:

    (1)

    The driver thereof is duly authorized and licensed to operate such vehicle; and

    (2)

    Such vehicle is registered in accordance with the law or unless it is specifically authorized and registered for air terminal use only, by the manager.

    (b)

    Restriction as to operation of vehicles:

    (1)

    No vehicle shall be operated in any area of the air terminal in a careless or negligent manner, or in disregard of the rights and safety of others, or without due caution and circumstances, or at a speed, or in a manner which endangers unreasonably or is likely to endanger unreasonably persons or property, or while the driver thereof is under the influence of intoxicating liquor or habitforming drugs or if such vehicle is so constructed, equipped or loaded as to endanger unreasonably or be likely to endanger unreasonably persons or property.

    (2)

    All vehicles shall comply with Okaloosa County Ordinance Numbers 75-6 and 75-18.

    (c)

    Motorized equipment on apron and taxiway. No motorized equipment shall be operated on the apron or taxiway except:

    (1)

    By persons assigned to duty thereon, and only in the performance of official duties.

    (2)

    By persons specifically authorized by the manager.

    Drivers of authorized vehicles shall at all times operate their vehicles in a safe manner.

    (d)

    Speed limits. All vehicles shall be operated in strict compliance with speed limits as indicated by posted traffic signs and at a speed not to exceed five miles per hour in the vicinity of aircraft.

    (e)

    Parking restrictions. No person shall park a vehicle or permit same to remain halted on any portion of the air terminal, except at such places and for such periods of time as may be prescribed by the manager and in accordance with Okaloosa County Ordinance Number 75-6.

    (f)

    Air terminal employee parking:

    (1)

    Areas. All persons are afforded free parking while employed by any tenant or concessionaire at the air terminal. Free employee parking privileges are limited to areas identified as "Employee Parking" areas and in accordance with the procedures set forth by the manager.

    (2)

    "Kontrol Kards." Free parking privileges are for employees only and each employee is responsible for the "Kontrol Kards" provided for entrance into the employee parking lot. Employees will be charged a sum to be set by the manager, for lost or mutilated "Kontrol Kards."

    (3)

    Abuse, violation of traffic rules. Abuse or violation of the free parking rules and regulations by an employee may result in the suspension of free parking privileges. Repeated and/or flagrant violations may result in permanent denial of free parking.
