§ 3-54. Police powers.

(a)

Generally. The board hereby exercises its authority to appoint airport police officers with full police powers within the jurisdiction of the air terminal, in accordance with Section 332.08(2)(a) of Florida Statutes. Airport police officers appointed hereunder shall meet the qualifications specified in Sections 943.13 and 943.14 of Florida Statutes, and shall be governed by other Florida Statutes pertaining to law enforcement officers, as necessary and applicable to the operation of the county air terminal.

(b)

Extended. All of the powers of the police officers of the state, county or air terminal police, derived from whatever source, are hereby extended to the area embraced within the air terminal property controlled by the board, as the same now exists, or as may be hereafter established.
