§ 6.05.032. Relocation, removal, and replacement of protected trees.

  • Where a proposed site plan cannot be designed to accommodate existing protected trees on the site, approval shall be obtained from the county to remove any such protected tree as specified in section 6.05.13.

    Where practical, when proposed improvements necessitate removal of protected trees, the owner or his agent shall replace the removed protected tree with a protected tree species or a species identified on the tree replant list, section 6.05.033, unless the owner or his agent opts to use the native tree replacement fund as provided in section 6.05.321. The replacement tree shall measure a minimum of three inches in diameter, at four feet above grade, in order to comply with section 6.05.05 below. A replacement ratio of 1:1 shall be applied. Trees identified as diseased or dead shall not be required to be replaced.
