§ 8-26. Duties and powers described.

  • The advisory board shall also:

    (1)

    Develop for the county commissioners the necessary plans, programs and recommendations for the prevention, control and abatement of pollution and preservation of water resources in the county, and shall submit a report of its findings to the county commissioners at least twice each year.

    (2)

    Utilize available means for identifying all known, suspected and future sources of pollution.

    (3)

    Establish a central point for reports from and to the public and county commissioners.

    (4)

    Clarify and advise county commissioners on procedure for state and federal assistance and guidance and include such in the report that shall be submitted to the county commissioners in accordance with (3) above.

    (5)

    Act as a coordinating agency for all community and civic groups which may contribute to the efforts, endeavors and purposes as prescribed in this article.

    (6)

    Assist the county commissioners or any other governmental agency on any and all matters pertinent to pollution and/or water conservation and preservation.
