§ 6-282. Unlawfully acting as contractor.

  • It is unlawful for any person to engage in the business or act in the capacity of a contractor in Okaloosa County without having been duly certified or registered as required under the provisions of this article. It is further a violation of this article for any person in Okaloosa County to:

    (a)

    Falsely hold himself or herself or a business organization out as one duly certified as required by the provisions of this article.

    (b)

    Falsely impersonate one duly certified or registered as required by the provisions of this article.

    (c)

    Present as his or her own the certificate, registration or certificate of competency of another.

    (d)

    Knowingly give false or forged evidence to the department or the board for the purpose of obtaining a certificate or registration.

    (e)

    Use or attempt to use a registration or certificate of competency that has been suspended, revoked or placed on inactive or retired status.

    Any person violating this section commits a misdemeanor of the second degree, punishable as provided in sections 775.082 and 775.083, Florida Statutes.
