Latest version.
  • (a)

Establishment of windborne debris and wind contour maps.

    (1)

Windborne debris line/130 m.p.h. contour line for category I structures. The windborne debris line and 130 m.p.h. wind contour line for category I structures shall be as shown on Exhibit A and as described as follows:

The north boundary of Eglin Air Force Base more defined as commence at the southeast corner of Section 36 Township 3N Range 22W and the intersection of the Okaloosa-Walton County boundary thus being the POB. Thence, westerly six miles to the northeast corner of Section 1 Township 2N Range 23W. Thence, southerly 1 mile to the southeast corner of Section 1 Township 2N Range 23W. Thence, westerly eight miles to the northwest corner of Section 11 Township 2N Range 24W. Thence, one mile south to the southwest corner of Section 11 Township 2N Range 24W. Thence, westerly approximately one and one-half miles to the Yellow River. Thence, meandering northerly, westerly and southerly along the Yellow River to the intersection of the Okaloosa-Santa Rosa County boundary.

    (2)

Windborne debris line/140 m.p.h. wind contour line for category II structures. The windborne debris line and 140 m.p.h. wind contour line for category II structures shall be as shown on Exhibit B and as described as follows:

    a.

Windborne debris line for category II structures.

The windborne debris line is described as the northern boundary of Okaloosa County, thus the windborne debris region is defined as the region south of the 130 mph line, which includes the entire County of Okaloosa.

    b.

One hundred forty m.p.h. wind contour line for category II structures.

Thence, southerly one mile to the southeast corner of Section 1 Township 2N Range 23W.

    (3)

Windborne debris line/150 m.p.h. Wind contour line for category III and IV structures. The Windborne Debris Line and 150 m.p.h. Wind Contour Line for Category III and IV structures shall be as shown on Exhibit C and as described as follows:

    a.

Windborne debris line for category III and IV structures.

The windborne debris line is described as the northern boundary of Okaloosa County, thus the windborne debris region is defined as the region south of the 130 m.p.h. line, which includes the entire County of Okaloosa.

    b.

One hundred fifty m.p.h. wind contour line for category III and IV structures.

Thence, southerly one mile to the southeast corner of Section 1 Township 2N Range 23W. Thence, westerly eight miles to the northwest corner of Section 11 Township 2N Range 24W. Thence, one mile south to the southwest corner of Section 11 Township 2N Range 24W. Thence, westerly approximately one and one-half and miles to the Yellow River. Thence, meandering northerly, westerly and southerly along the Yellow River to the intersection of the Okaloosa-Santa Rosa County boundary.

    (b)

Interpolation of wind contour lines. An architect or engineer licensed and registered to practice in the State of Florida may interpolate the exact wind load of a proposed structure.
