§ 6-54. Exceptions.

  • (a)

    Tank-type water closets. In satisfaction of the requirements of sections 6-52 and 6-53, the installation of tank-type water closets having a tank capacity in excess of three and one-half gallons shall be permitted if such water closets are equipped with a device which reduces average water consumption to no more than three and one-half gallons per flush.

    (b)

    Standard flush toilets. The chief building inspector of the county zoning and inspection department may allow the use of standard flush toilets if, in his opinion, the configuration of the building drainage system requires a quantity of water greater than three and one-half gallons to adequately flush the system.
