§ 2-136. Participation by elected constitutional officers.

  • That the board of county commissioners establishes the following procedure for authorizing elected constitutional officers to participate in the program:

    (1)

    The following elected Okaloosa County constitutional officers are eligible to participate in the program: the property appraiser, the tax collector, the sheriff, the supervisor of elections, and the clerk of the circuit court.

    (2)

    Each elected constitutional officer may participate in the program at his or her sole discretion.

    (3)

    Employees of participating constitutional officers shall be approved at the sole discretion of the constitutional officer, provided that the constitutional officer must document that at least one regular, full time position in a similar classification shall be abolished that has the same funding source as the applicant's position.

    (4)

    Voluntary separation incentive payments and payments for any accrued leave balances shall be the sole responsibility of each officer based on the officer's policies and procedures and shall be made from funds within their appropriated budgets.
