§ 2-135. Approval procedure.

  • That the board of county commissioners establishes the following procedure for approving an applicant for the voluntary separation incentive program:

    (1)

    The county administrator or his designee shall determine which applicants will be accepted for the voluntary separation incentive program based on the following considerations:

    a.

    At least one regular, full-time position in a similar classification shall be abolished that has the same funding source as the applicant's position;

    b.

    Impact on the delivery of service; and

    c.

    Availability of funding.

    (2)

    Employees of participating constitutional officers shall be approved at the sole discretion of the constitutional officer, provided that the constitutional officer must document that at least one regular, full time position in a similar classification shall be abolished that has the same funding source as the applicant's position.

    (3)

    The employee has seven calendar days after making application in which to revoke the decision to separate from service. After the revocation period, the election will be considered final.

    Once an applicant is accepted for the voluntary separation incentive program, his or her last day of employment shall be determined by the county, but will not be later than September 19, 2010.
