Article VI. VOLUNTARY SEPARATION INCENTIVE PROGRAM |
§ 2-133. Payment formulas and guidelines.
That the board of county commissioners establishes the following formulas and guidelines to be used in determining the amount of any incentive payment provided pursuant to this program.
(1)
The incentive shall be based on the employee's current hourly rate or bi-weekly salary as of pay period ending May 16, 2010.
(2)
An eligible employee who is accepted under this program shall receive an incentive equal to six months of their current annual base salary or $25,000.00, whichever is greater; plus assistance with the cost of health insurance. The county will pay the cost of 50 percent of the employee's single rate health insurance for up to 18 months through COBRA or as a retiree.
(3)
The incentive shall be distributed to the employee as a single lump-sum payment that shall be distributed in the employee's final paycheck. After an employee receives the lump-sum payment, the county shall continue paying its share of health insurance premiums, contingent upon the employee continuing to make the remaining 50 percent premium contribution.
(4)
All other eligible compensation will be paid in accordance with the Human Resources Policy Manual (i.e. payment for unused annual and sick leave in accordance with current human resources policies).
