§ 1-15. Additional court costs assessed for law enforcement education expenditures.

  • Pursuant to Florida Statute 943.25(8)(a), all courts within Okaloosa County, Florida, excluding municipal courts, created by Article V of the state Constitution, and any court hereafter created shall assess an additional $2.00 for expenditures for criminal justice education degree programs and training courses, including basic recruit training, for their respective officers and support personnel, provided such education degree programs and training courses are approved by the commission. In addition, an additional $2.00 over and above that provided by Florida Statute 943.25(4) from every bond estreature or forfeited bail bond related to such penal statutes or penal ordinance shall be assessed and collected for the purposes hereinafter recited. However, no such assessment shall be made against any person convicted for violation of any state statute or county ordinance relating to the parking of vehicles. All fees, fines, charges or court costs generated and collected pursuant hereto shall be deposited in the general fund of Okaloosa County, Florida, and expended for law enforcement education expenditures for officers of the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Department.
