§ 17-63. Duties and responsibilities.

  • The local planning agency, in accordance with the Local Government Comprehensive Planning Act of 1975, sections 163.3161 through 163.3211, Florida Statutes, shall:

    (1)

    Conduct the comprehensive planning program and prepare the comprehensive plan or elements or portions thereof for the county;

    (2)

    Coordinate such comprehensive plan or elements or portions thereof with the comprehensive plans of other appropriate local governments and the state;

    (3)

    Recommend such comprehensive plan or elements or portions thereof to the board of county commissioners for adoption; and

    (4)

    Monitor and oversee the effectiveness and status of the comprehensive plan and recommend to the board of county commissioners such changes in the comprehensive plan as may be required from time to time.
