§ 1. Definitions.

For the purpose of this ordinance, the definitions contained in this section shall apply unless otherwise stated:

A.

Annual special assessment. The term "annual special assessment" shall refer to the annual service charge special assessment imposed upon a parcel of real property located within the boundaries of the Lake Pippin Estates Municipal Services Benefit Unit for the applicable fiscal year to provide the funds to provide the services contemplated by this ordinance.

B.

Benefit unit. The general term "benefit unit" shall refer to the Lake Pippin Channel Maintenance Municipal Services Benefit Unit created under the provisions of this ordinance.

C.

Board. The word "board" shall refer to the Board of County Commissioners of Okaloosa County, Florida.

D.

Committee. The word "committee" shall refer to the Lake Pippin Channel Maintenance Municipal Services Benefit Unit Advisory Committee established by this ordinance to manage and advise the board of county commissioners of the desires and progress of the projects within the benefit unit.

E.

Clerk. The word "clerk" shall refer to the Clerk of Circuit Court of Okaloosa County, Florida.

F.

Fiscal year. The term "fiscal year" refers to the fiscal year applicable to Okaloosa County Government, such fiscal year beginning on the first day of October of each year and ending on the 30th day of September of the next year.

G.

Owner. The word "owner" refers to the person or persons owning an interest in real property located within the boundaries of the Lake Pippin Estates Municipal Services Benefit Unit.

H.

Parcel. The word "parcel" shall be deemed to refer to each individual parcel of real property within the boundaries of the benefit unit.

I.

Person. The word "person" shall mean either an individual, firm, partnership, corporation, association, executor, administrator, trustee or other legal entity, whether singular or plural, masculine or feminine, as the context may require.

J.

Project. The word "project" shall mean all channel improvements and facilities and appurtenances thereto, including all property, rights, easements and franchises related thereto and deemed necessary for the acquisition, reconstruction, improvement, extension, enlargement, repair, operation or maintenance of the channel from Lake Pippin to Choctawhatchee Bay.

K.

Property appraiser. The title "property appraiser" refers to the property appraiser of Okaloosa County, Florida.

L.

Tax collector. The title "tax collector" refers to the tax collector of Okaloosa County, Florida.
