§ 5. Powers.

The governing body of the district shall have the authority to:

(a)

Contract with public or private utility companies, or independent contractors, for the furnishing of street lighting services to the district.

(b)

Set, by resolution, the assessments to be imposed and levied for the funding of the district.

(c)

Designate the location and number of street lights within the district.

(d)

Appropriate to the Okaloosa Island Leaseholders' Association excess revenues exceeding the costs of providing street lighting and payment of utilities for watering medians and public areas for the purpose of landscaping and maintaining medians and public areas.
