§ 1. Creation; boundaries.

Upon this ordinance becoming a law all of the following area in Okaloosa County shall be a special fire protection district for the purpose of providing fire protection for the benefit of the residents and properties within said district, to be known as the Crestview Area Okaloosa County Fire District, in which name it may sue and be sued, lease, own, possess and convey real and personal property, by purchase or gift, or otherwise, in order to carry out the purpose of this ordinance:

Beginning at the northeast corner of Section 12, Township 4 North, Range 23 West; thence west along section lines of the northwest corner of Section 7, Township 4 North, Range 23 West, and the channel of the Yellow River; thence southerly along the channel of the Yellow River to the north section line of Section 2, Township 3 North, Range 24 West; thence run west to the intersection of Old River Road; thence run south along Old River Road to the intersection of Griffith Cemetery Road; thence continue along Griffith Cemetery Road to the intersection of Buck Ward Road; thence continue southwesterly to Mill Creek; thence southwesterly to the intersection of Garrett Mill Road and Wadsworth Road; thence west along Garrett Mill Road to the intersection of Highway 4; continue north along Highway 4 for approximately 3/8 mile to the intersection of Keyser Mill Road; thence southwest along Keyser Mill Road to Baggett Creek and the northwest corner of Section 20, Township 3 North, Range 24 West; thence south along section lines to the southwest corner of Section 29, Township 3 North, Range 24 West; thence east along section lines to the channel of the Yellow River; thence southerly along the channel of Yellow River to the channel of the Shoal River; thence easterly along the channel of the Shoal River to the southwest corner of Section 3, Township 2 North, Range 23 West; thence easterly and northerly along channel of Shoal River to the east section line of Section 1, Township 3 North, Range 23 West; thence north along section lines to the point of beginning.

Less and except the city limits of the Town of Crestview, Okaloosa County, Florida.

Any federal lands or lands within a municipality included in the boundary of the district as described herein shall be excluded from the district and its jurisdiction. If any area, tract or parcel of land within the boundaries of the district shall hereafter become annexed to a municipality such area, tract or parcel of land shall be excluded from the district effective the next January 1 following such annexation by a municipality. Nothing contained in this act shall preclude any municipality from annexing lands to the territorial limits of the municipality even if such land is included within the district.

Should any part of the territory covered in this act be held not to be included herein, then this act shall continue in effect as to the balance of the territory.
